A successful program requires not only great technology, but also great people. The Lyryx team has offered tremendous help and support to us with our courses. The platform is very easy to use for students and professors alike. We’ve had very positive feedback from the students, and personally, I find the Lyryx software very user friendly and easy to navigate. Lyryx continues to be a great success for us at Algonquin College!

Selkirk College made the decision to switch to Lyryx Open Text for our Introduction to Financial Accounting course this year. Reason: it’s a free download or a very low-priced hard copy. School fees keep mounting for students and we want to help out any way we can. It’s a lot of work for an instructor to switch texts, but worth the effort.
I have been especially pleased with the new Lyryx Open Text for this course. With all the solutions available on the free download version, it has saved me time. I don’t have to post solutions after each class, as the students can look them up themselves. The PowerPoint slides have been very clear and helpful. I’ve found that there are more slides than I actually need. It’s easy to skip the “extras” and go right to the ones I find most useful, that I can speak to. As always, the Lyryx assignments are a wonderful tool for helping the students to really learn the concepts from class. The instant feedback and ability to repeat questions is extremely helpful. I have had great support from the Lyryx Learning team. I know there’s a group of people working on my behalf to make this transition to a new text as smooth as possible.

We were seeking a very customized text for an Economics course for business students. Lyryx and authors worked together to create a text based on the course outline, which included removing and adding content, reorganization, and adjustments for continuity.
This level of customization has not been available to us before and we are very pleased with the outcome as well as the option to make further changes if desired.
Beyond that, we found the Lyryx online assessment to be quite beneficial for our students. While no statistical analysis was conducted we found student engagement with the subject matter was increased substantially.

I have noticed a remarkable improvement in the students learning and analytical ability with Lyryx homework exercises and problems. Up until now, I have stayed away from automated homework systems because I feel the student needs to work through the steps to understand the process. With your automated exercises and problems, I see the students wanting to work the problems many times and they like the immediate feedback. They are actually enjoying the challenge!

What Students Are Saying
I’m a university student in my first year and after finding out about all the textbook fees that go along with post-secondary, it was really nice to see an open, free digital textbook at no cost. Thank-you so much for that! Have a nice day 🙂

I am a student of McGill University taking Linear Algebra (Math 133) as one of courses. I should really say that due to Lyryx, I am finding Linear algebra a lot easier to understand.

Lyryx was easy to navigate and I really liked how it marked questions right away – showing exactly what you got wrong and step-by-step solutions. I was able to thoroughly understand the concepts being taught by practicing. Multiple attempts gave the ability to fix previous mistakes, but in a new question. Lyryx is a great way to learn and further develop what you’ve learned in a fun and educational way!

ACCT 253 is Athabasca’s highest enrollment course and it uses excellent interactive materials with an OER textbook – infinitely better than publisher supplements. I would highly recommend Lyryx materials for similar subjects if they are as good as the accounting interactive products.
