Numerical answer boxes are similar to the other types of input boxes, except that they only accept a number as an answer. See the article Tips for inputting answers in Labs and/or Quizzes for more information on using input boxes.



You can also perform certain arithmetical operations, consistent with a previous answer, directly in your answer box. These include the basic operations addition (+), subtraction (-), multiplication (*), division (/), and exponentiation (^). The input box also includes certain common functions such as log, ln, sin,cos, etc.

(Note that some of these functions may not be available, depending on the product that you are using.)

Keep in mind that if you enter a mathematical expression, it will be evaluated using the proper order of operations.
