Common PayPal Issues

This article lists some of the issues that students may have when using PayPal to pay for their Lyryx registration.

Credit Card Form Not Displayed

PayPal encourages you to create an account with them but this is not necessary to pay for your Lyryx registration.  To bypass the login form, click "Pay with Credit Card" below the login form.

Credit Card Declined

If your credit card is declined, a red message will appear above your credit card information.  If your credit card is declined then you will need to contact your bank or card issuer.  The staff at Lyryx will have no information as to why your card has been declined as that information is only known by your bank.  Make sure that your name and address provided to PayPal match your credit card bill exactly.  Sometimes cards are declined as part of fraud prevention for an unusual purchase, and you simply need to tell your bank that it is you making the payment and to allow the payment to proceed.

Need to Select "No, thanks" to Creating an Account

There is a question just below your credit card and personal information in which PayPal asks if you want to create an account with them.  If you forget to answer this question an orange box appears at the bottom of the form to remind you.

Contacting PayPal

If you require assistance on any of the above pages, please contact PayPal customer support directly.

Call PayPal: 1-888-221-1161

You will be greeted by an automated system. When prompted say "Transaction" and if this is ineffective, say "Operator".  You may have to say this more than once.

You will need to provide the following information:

  • First & last name
  • Email address you used during payment
  • If you have a PayPal account, they will ask for verification information
  • If you do not have a PayPal account, they will ask for the number of the credit/ debit card you are attempting to make the payment with
