Lyryx Gradebook The Lyryx Gradebook offers various options to generate the course grades, including:
Configure Course Grades The weight of all assignments must be set so as to compute the intended Course Grades. There are two ways to do so; the most versatile is Custom Weight, and a second for simple assignments is Weight by Type. Custom Weight In this case you are presented with all your assignments organized in labs and examinations. Simply set appropriate weights to each component so to correspond to the desired percentages of the Course Grades.
You have the option to drop the lowest grades from a number of labs and examinations, depending on your intentions. Finally, if your Lyryx course is linked to your course LMS (Learning Management System) at your institution, then you can synchronize the Lyryx Course Grade with your LMS gradebook. Simply click the box to do so. How to set weights for Course Grade There is a tool available to assist in obtaining the weights for each assignment so that the Course Grade is computed correctly. This tool helps instructors calculate individual weights for their Course Grade in a few commonly occurring situations. In particular it allows instructors to quickly set different weights for Homework, Quizzes, Midterms and Examinations. The tool is intuitive and instructions included.
Weight by Type You can use this option for simple assignments.
This tool is also made available for backward compatibility of the previous version of the Lyryx gradebook. Show/Hide ItemsBy default the table displays all items created. However you can customize which columns are visible by selecting those in the Show/Hide Items menu. The "Grade for Visible Items" column will recompute the grade based on those items. This can be particularly useful to monitor student progress during the course, and display items passed due dates for example.
Search for specific student(s)If you gradebook has many students it may be useful to search for specific students instead of scrolling to find the student. Note a "Freeze columns" option at the bottom left of the student list, this may be useful to identify grades once a student is selected.
View Marked ItemsNot only can the instructor see the grade for each item, but you can also view up to the last 5 best marked items. Simply click on the item grade and which attempts you wish to see.
Download GradesYou can download the grades in a spreadsheet at any time. Even if your grades are synchronized to your LMS garedbook, you may want to keep a copy of the detailed Lyryx gradebook for your records. To do so, simply click the "Download CSV" button.
